- Temperature wildly off: A few degrees of drift can be calibration; large swings usually need sensor or control diagnosis.
- Self-clean locked the door: Avoid forcing the latch; many units need a controlled cool-down and latch or control repair.
Quick user checks—confirming the oven is not in Sabbath or demo mode, verifying the breaker is on, and making sure racks are not blocking a sensor—are fine. Opening sealed control cavities or probing live igniters is not a DIY job and can create a safety risk.
