Quick checks before you call
- Running too hot: Confirm the lint filter is clean and the exhaust vent is not clogged.
- Won’t start: Make sure the dryer is plugged in, the door is fully closed, and the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- Runs but won’t heat: On electric units, check that both breakers for a 240V circuit are on. Confirm the dryness or temperature selector is set correctly.
- Longer dry times: Clear lint from the filter, cabinet, and outdoor vent hood. A stuck vent flap often means a serious blockage.
- Noisy dryer: Squeals or thumps can point to worn drum rollers, glides, bearings, or a frayed belt—schedule a diagnostic if noise is new or getting worse.
